Learn

Plain-language explainers for the concepts the API models — security types, settlement, clean vs. dirty pricing, coupons, shariah screening. These are conceptual and general: they explain how a mechanism works, never which instrument to pick. There are no recommendations here and none in the platform — that is the FRA Decision 332 / R1 contract, explained in Neutrality by construction.

Concepts, not advice. Everything in Learn is general education about market mechanics. It is never instrument-specific selection, never a ranking, and never a "what should I buy" answer.

Topics

  • Security types — equities, ETFs, bonds, sukuk, funds, indices, and how security_type ties them to the API.
  • Settlement & T+2 — what settlement means and why EGX equities settle two business days after the trade.
  • Clean & dirty price — why a bond quotes one price and you pay another, and what accrued interest is.
  • Coupons & yield — what a coupon is, and why yield is disclosure rather than a way to rank bonds.
  • Shariah screening — what the shariah screen filters, and why it is a descriptive universe filter, not advice.
  • Neutrality by construction — how R1 / Decision 332 shapes every list and why there are no rankings.

Where this maps in the API. Each topic links to the reference pages it describes. The conceptual content here is delivered in the docs; a programmatic education endpoint (/v1/learn/*) is on the roadmap and not part of this release.
